Steps to identify scam
As technology advances, Internet fraudsters are also increasingly gaining power over the poor victim.

They cast their nets wide and far to catch a seduced pray.

Online scams have many forms. Some scammers try to persuade their victims to offer them something extremely good. In that way, their preys who usually are money lovers are attracted by these unscrupulous schemes.

They are deceived into thinking that they will be rich in a day - which is a daydream that never happens in the real world. Today, TechnologiesGH.com team has taken it upon themselves to search for legitimate online opportunities and to caution its readers on how to avoid all the dangers in online money making scams.

5 Tips to Avoid Online Scams

Step 1:
Make sure that the website you visit is genuine by doing a further search at Google to find out about what other people are saying about such a site in their reviews, forums, articles and blog comments.

You can check out posts and comments in scam advise forums on what others are saying about new sites. The following sites are just two examples of scam advise resources:

  • ScamAdviser.com - This site uses tools to fetch for the information of site owners, their country of origin and the domain registration date. This can give you a fair idea of the site whether it's new or not. Additionally, members of the ScamAdivser community provide comments about such sites.
  • MyWot.com (Web of Trust) - This is also another great site where real people who are genuinely concerned about Internet security post reviews about sites.  WOT users rate sites for performance, child safety, and scam. You can also download a Google Playstore app or a Chrom extension to monitor sites.

Step 2:
Be sure that there are real people behind the website before you provide any personal details about yourself; NOT even your e-mail address. Therefore, find or enquire of their contact phone numbers and/or any other valid contact details.
Step 3:
Do not succumb (give in) to anyone who promises to give a big amount of money of which you have not worked for.

Step 4:
Never make a payment or provide your credit card details to anyone asking you to pay a certain amount in return for a big prize.

Step 5:
Only make payments over a secured website. Secured website addresses are ALWAYS in the following format:
https://www.the-site-name.com.
The “s” in the http means the link is secured. In this case, your Visa card details would not be hacked by hackers.

Why Is Online Security a Big Concern?

Cybersecurity is a big concern because lots of businesses are rapidly moving to the cyberspace to do sales online. It is, therefore, a major concern to have a secure and safe environment for buyers.

Internet security is in the interest of both the buyer and the business owner. If scammers are not checked, there will be a continuous panic for online shoppers since few will be bold enough to pull their purses.

Nevertheless, to some extent, the Internet is still safe because there are genuine companies and individuals out there who mean real business.

Just as you're always cautious when buying online, I am even much cautious than ever when trying to figure out a legit online store.

Fortunately, after long hours of research, I landed on two key sites where all official online stores are connected as one big shop. So you can find any shop from these sites.

I joined these social marketplaces to find out whether they are trustworthy and found them to be legitimate online stores. Below are the links to these sites for your study too:
